Whistler Bridge, British Columbia, Canada Latitude: N 50 05′ 40″Longitude: W 122 59′ 24.2″Designer: Associated EngineeringConstructed: ?Cost: ? Owners: Intrawest – owner of the world-famous Whistler ski resort. The bridge is a focal point in the new development which revitalized Whistler Creek The bridge was designed to fit an artist’s impression of a heritage steel truss railway bridge as approved by the Municipal Design Panel. The steel trusses are false. The stone-clad “abutments” serve as intermediate piers for the thin three-span continuous concrete slab nestling between the ‘faux’ trusses. The short approach spans are connected to retaining walls and stabilized with ground anchors. The deck is overlain by a sand layer which contains heating conduits for winter de-icing. The bridge is designed to reflect the alpine flavour of the adjacent development;

Nice touches include the granite-clad piers and hand-peeled pine handrails.
